World Cancer Day

This year’s World Cancer Day’s theme is ‘I Am and I Will’ focused on you and your commitment to act.

Cancer is the second leading cause of death worldwide, with 9.6 million people dying from cancer every year. What is even more shocking is that one in three cancers can be prevented. Not only can some cancers be prevented, a recent UK study found that for the eight most common cancers, survival is three times higher when diagnosed early.

What can we do?

By increasing awareness and promoting accurate information and knowledge, we can empower all of us to recognise the early warning signs and help conquer our fears and misconceptions about cancer.
